Build It! Clubs for Grades K-2, 3-5, 6-8
Build It! is a semester long club created to explore the possibilities that LEGO has to offer, tailored for kids in grades K-2, 3-5 and 6-8. Students can sign up for both semesters each year or pick and choose what works best for them.
Students will learn about building techniques for LEGO building and real-life architecture. Weekly challenges help develop problem solving skills and push students to be innovative thinkers. No previous experience is required. The only thing you need to bring is a love of building!
Build It! Grades K-2 & 3-5 meets Mondays 4:30 - 5:30 pm
Build It! Grades 6-8 meets Wednesdays 4:30 - 5:30 pm
Build It! Clubs are led by mentors using curriculum developed by Broomfield STEM staff and volunteers. If you are interested in mentoring a Build It! Club, please check out our mentor page.

Code It! for
Grades 6-8
Code It! for Grades 6-8 is a semester long club for students that want to learn to explore coding. Students can sign up for both semesters or pick one that works best for them. Code It! can be repeated as many times as desired as skills and projects will change each semester.
Code It! 6-8 meets Mondays from 4:30 to 5:30 pm
In the fall, students will learn JavaScript by coding the classic game Asteroids. Then students will use microcontrollers to take coding off the screen and into the real world using block-based coding and Python. This class is appropriate for any level of coder, though advanced coders might know many of the foundational concepts presented during Asteroids.
Students are encouraged to bring their own laptops or Chromebooks so they can continue to work at home, but we can provide devices if they do not have one. Devices do need to have an attached keyboard to work with the coding programs.
